Blending technology, innovation and co-design for smarter destinations
How can digital solutions improve destinations and the visitor experience?
Three key words are: digital, data and community engagement.
Through the adoption of innovative digital solutions and the improvement of data collection, monitoring and processing, it is possible to build better destinations for everyone, in line with the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
The aim is to create places that are more liveable and therefore more attractive for tourists, more sustainable from an economic, social and environmental perspective and where stakeholders interact with each other for the co-creation of the destination and its policies.
In this round table we will discuss what it means today to be a smart destination and what is the line of action taken by the European Union to support territories throughout this digital and innovative transition.
Thanks to international guests and experts, we will discover what are the most important traits that make a destination “smart”, also through the analysis of the example of Catalunya.
