Stefan Marchioro has been involved in tourism since 1990, holding the role of director of the Aziende di Promozione Turistica di Padova, Terme Euganee, Rovigo, Vicenza and of Turismo Padova Terme Euganee until 2012.
He is currently an official of the Tourism Directorate of the Veneto Region where he deals with territorial projects and tourism governance.
Since 2003 he has been collaborating with the University of Padua and is currently a visiting professor of Economics Applied to Tourism for the degree course in Planning and Management of Cultural Tourism, member of the Organizing Committee and teacher of the Master’s in Design of the tourism offer.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of ITS Turismo Veneto and of the journals Tourism and Psychology and Regional Studies and Local Development. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of the BTO of Florence. He has made numerous publications regarding the theme of governance of the tourism sector and regarding the themes of destination management and destination marketing.
