Massimiliano Tonelli

Massimiliano Tonelli was born in 1978. He has a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Siena; from 1999 to 2011 he was director of the paper and web publishing platform "Exibart". He is currently the editorial director of Artribune, which he founded in 2011. From 2013 to 2021 he was the editorial director of Gambero Rosso.

He led and took part in numerous conferences, juries and seminars as a speaker; he has taught at higher education centers including the European Institute of Design, Rome Tor Vergata University, the Garrone Foundation of Genoa, Link Campus University, 24Ore Business School and the La Sapienza University of Rome. He was a professor in the Luiss Master’s of Art program and in the Master’s program in communication and food and wine journalism of Gambero Rosso and is currently a visiting professor at the IULM in Milan where he teaches the publishing of culture.

He has collaborated with numerous newspapers including Radio24-Il Sole24 Ore, Time Out, Lonely Planet, Class, Formiche, Dispensa. Some of his texts have appeared in various contemporary art catalogues and essays on art, gastronomy, urban planning and territory, including the annual Civita and Symbola reports. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Cultural Journalism Festival. In 2018 he was awarded the Cultural Journalist of the Year Award at the Ischia Awards.
