I have always thought that a good destination technician should be able to develop a local strategic plan before managing a provincial and regional one. Having a field of action more limited to a municipality, an area, a district does not make you professionally less capable than those who perhaps manage larger areas but, on the contrary, it allows you not only to apply destination marketing strategies in the best possible way, to manage a limited number of subjects belonging to the local tourism supply chain, but it helps you to better understand the complex dynamics of a territory and its community of residents. It helps you to concretely create some puzzle pieces, or local cells capable of completing or reproducing, adopting a kind of Fractal Geometry (as nature teaches us) which, in turn, will serve you in completing a much broader territorial strategic plan.
