Travel and Tourism Data Specialist Motion Analytica

Dario Bertocchi, is a visiting professor at the economics department of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice where he teaches E-Tourism and holds the role of Travel and Tourism Data Specialist for Motion Analytica.

He tries to understand how tourists behave in destinations thanks to the analysis of data, from those produced in social networks to those available via telephone companies.

His PhD thesis in new technologies for the city entitled "Data analysis for the management of the tourist destination" presents some methods of data analysis for the personalization of the tourist offer, for the study of flows and for intra and infra-destination.

Attentive to the aspects of tourism sustainability, he studies bottom-up and top-down solutions to reduce the negative effects in tourism.

He is a collaborator with the Ca’ Foscari University on several European projects regarding tourism and cultural heritage, continuing to transform data into strategic and operational indicators.

He lives and works in Venice where he copes with the tourist phenomenon on a daily basis.
