Data & Innovation Manager GS1 Italy
I am Data & Innovation Manager in GS1 Italy, the non-profit association that has been developing and promoting standards for building a global business language for over 40 years.
The most famous of these standards is the barcode which, for many decades, has transformed and made trading and the entire supply chain involved in it much more efficient.
I have a technical background, with a degree in Computer Science, which led me to work in various organizations mostly in the retail sector.
I worked for several years as a computer science teacher in secondary schools and as a consultant in development activities and systems management.
I took care of all the technical aspects in one of the first Italian e-commerce initiatives in the grocery sector.
For over 12 years I have been dealing with the development of GS1 standards in the Italian context, in particular those devoted to the management of product information, and Data Quality as a transversal theme.
I also follow all the innovative issues that have some reference with the GS1 system in order to direct their developments with a view to keeping them in harmony with what is already available.
